On occasion of the Right to Know Day 2016, the Information Commission, Right to Information (RTI) Forum, and IID are jointly hosted an e-Seminar on Thursday the 29th September 2016 starting at 11 am.
The topic of discussion was “To what extent the Right to Information Act of Bangladesh has been able to ensure people’s right to information?”
Opening remarks was given by Chief Information Commissioner Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rahman. Information Commissioner Nepal Chandra Sarker, Convenor of RTI Forum Shaheen Anam, former Information Commissioner Professor Sadeka Halim, among others, too part in the e-discussion. Other participants included a wide range of stakeholders from senior government representatives to those involved in implementing RTI and representatives from CSOs and other national institutions.
The online seminar took place at IID’s opinion-sharing site www.obhimat.com/rtk16 where one could take part in the discussion online from anywhere, till 5 pm on 2nd October
